My work strives to transform, through the asymmetrical
placement of rusty and battered metals, old tools and machine
parts into objects of simple and profound beauty. Much that I create
is not welded, resulting in its eventual demise and repurpose.

I feel a deep kinship with the Japanese aesthetic of Wabi-sabi that
celebrates the imperfect, incomplete, stark, transient, aged and decaying.
As an accidental artist, I have unconsciously found myself merging with
this zen concept and much that it embraces. - Lana Hermann
